1. About iChama

iChama is a chama savings group management platform operated by Bytecast Prime, a registered business in Kenya. iChama provides tools for groups to track contributions, manage withdrawals, enforce rules, and communicate — it does not hold, transfer, or guarantee any funds.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to use iChama
• You must provide accurate information when creating an account
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

3. What iChama does and does not do

iChama provides a platform to:

• Record and track contributions made by chama members
• Manage withdrawal requests and approval voting
• Schedule and record meetings
• Assign accountability scores based on payment history

4. User responsibilities

By using iChama, you agree to:

• Use the platform honestly and in good faith
• Not use iChama for fraud, money laundering, or any illegal activity
• Not attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the platform
• Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account

5. Chama rules and disputes

iChama enforces the rules that chama admins set when creating a group. We are not responsible for disputes between chama members. Any disagreements about contributions, withdrawals, or penalties are between the members of the chama.

6. Accountability scores

Accountability scores are calculated based on contribution history within iChama. They are for informational purposes within the platform only. Bytecast Prime makes no representations about their use by third parties such as lenders or financial institutions.

7. Subscription and payments

iChama offers a free tier with basic features. Premium features require a subscription of KES 149 per chama per month. Payments are processed via M-Pesa or debit/credit card. Subscriptions auto-renew monthly and can be cancelled at any time. No refunds are issued for partial months.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Kenyan law, Bytecast Prime is not liable for:

• Loss of funds between chama members
• Disputes arising from withdrawal decisions
• Data loss caused by user error
• Service interruptions beyond our reasonable control

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your personal data will be deleted within 30 days.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email. Continued use of iChama after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Nairobi, Kenya.
